"Not this damn system and a content creator's tournament, they already have attention, shift it to beginner players." - Sayf about the off-season

Team Liquid player, specifically Saif "Sayf" Jibraeel, voiced his opinion on Twitter regarding the announcement of tournaments to be held in the off-season and complained that there were no tournaments for beginners.

I played in $100 tournaments with four friends who yelled at me at the top of their lungs: 'Want to grow talent?'. That's where you should start! Not this damn system and a tournament for influential players, they already draw attention, focus it on players aspiring to succeed.

The player expressed his negative view on the announced events that will take place during the off-season. He highlighted that Riot Games doesn't put enough effort into developing young players, instead focusing on invitational tournaments and content creator tournaments. Young and promising players are left to compete only in a league that runs throughout the year, with only one prize for the entire region.

I love competing in VALORANT. However, it's scary to see our region stagnating during the off-season. Why aren't we encouraging open tournaments that don't require invitations? I fell in love with esports thanks to these opportunities provided to me in CS. We need to pave the way for other players! Right now, it's a disgrace.

He also added that he enjoys playing Valorant, but it's unpleasant to watch the EMEA region not progress, even though it is one of the strongest regions in the game in terms of achievements in the current season. It seems this comment was directed at the main director of Valorant esports, who responded to the question "Where are the tournaments for the EMEA region?" jokingly with "The EMEA region will probably spend the off-season polishing their trophies."

Currently, the issue regarding Tier 2 and Tier 3 level problems is actively being discussed among other players and coaches. They are expressing requests for teams of this level to be given at least one slot in international tournaments, to provide more local offline tournaments, and at the very least, allocate two slots in the partner league, rather than just one, as was the case in the 2023 season.
