MOUZ snapped their winning streak with a 9th-12th place finish at IEM Dallas

MOUZ ended its streak of success in the group stages with a 9th-12th place finish at IEM Dallas. This is the first playoff skip since December 1, 2023 at the Elisa Masters. In that time, MOUZ has won the ESL Pro League and BB Dacha Belgrade.

IEM Dallas was supposed to be the final event of the season for MOUZ, but the team ran into trouble, losing to 9z in the opening game, after knocking Complexity out of the tournament and then losing to G2, playing without Rasmus “HooXi” Nielsen.

In an interview with HLTV, Ádám “torzsi” Torzsás revealed that they had no time to practice for the tournament. He noted that he is proud of how MOUZ have risen this season.

Speaking about the loss to G2, torzsi admitted that on the first map, Inferno, they made a lot of mistakes, which allowed their opponents to dominate despite having a substitute player. On the following maps, torzsi said they controlled the game but missed important moments.

Regarding the loss to 9z, torzsi noted that the team decided to take a break after two successful tournaments, which led to a lack of preparation. He admitted that it was not the best choice and that the team was sloppy in the first game.

When asked about the pressure of winning previous tournaments, torzsi said that the team did not feel any additional pressure. He emphasized that they were happy with their accomplishments and were eager to win again, but also acknowledged that one bad tournament per season is normal.

The next tournament MOUZ will be attending is the Esports World Cup, which will take place from July 17-21, bringing together the best teams in the world. Until then, MOUZ will probably have a rest and then prepare for the tournament.
