Today, the Ukrainian organization Monte played its first match at the ESL Pro League Season 18. And, unfortunately, the outcome of this meeting was not positive.
Monte met the German organization BIG, which beat them with a score of 2:1.
How did the match go?
The first map of the confrontation was Vertigo (the peak of the BIG team). The fight lasted until the twenty-ninth round, but the Germans from BIG managed to win with a score of 16:13.

The second map was Anubis (the peak of the Monte team). The fight was even more intense on this map. We found out the winner only after the thirtieth round. Monte beat BIG with a score of 16:14!

After exchanging spades, the teams went to Ancient. But here, BIG literally took their opponents with a score of 16:5.

BIG team's lurker Karim "Krimbo" Moussa rightfully takes the MVP of this confrontation, as his average rating for the three maps was 7.4.

Here's how well-known Ukrainian analyst Oleksandr "petr1k" Petryk reacted to Monte's defeat:
Monte had a bad game today, but the tournament is just starting, they have Rooster (tomorrow), then most likely MOUZ. And somewhere in there, a rematch with BIG might happen. I think we'll see the best of Monte in this tournament. And they weren't terrible today. I have to hand it to BIG: they're okay.
What's next?
Monte fell into the lower net, where Rooster are already waiting for them. The match will take place tomorrow at 13:30 Kyiv time.
BIG, on the other hand, advanced to the semifinals of Group B and will play against Heroic tomorrow at 17:00 Kyiv time.
The Group B grid now looks like this:
