Monte and GamerLegion will miss the qualification for ESL Challenger Katowice 2023 due to their participation in the BLAST.tv Major Paris 2023

Monte and GamerLegion have decided to withdraw from the European qualification in order to focus on their performance at the major. They will face each other in the quarterfinals of the major tomorrow, May 19th. ECSTATIC and GODSENT will replace the withdrawn teams in the qualifiers.

ECSTATIC and GODSENT were chosen as replacement teams based on the number of rounds won in the open qualification, which is why they were selected instead of Arcadia and Nexus, who finished in the 5th-8th place in the qualifiers.

The European qualification for ESL Challenger Katowice 2023 will feature 8 teams: BIG, HOTU, ECSTATIC, Movistar Riders, GODSENT, lookingForOrg, DomiNation, and NIP. The qualifiers will take place from May 20th to 22nd in a double-elimination format, with only one spot available for the main stage of the tournament.

The tournament itself is scheduled for June 9th-11th, and the winner will not only receive a prize of $50,000 but also earn a slot in EPL Season 18, where Monte qualified as the champion of ECL S44 Europe.
