More than ten years have passed since the release of CS:GO, and during this period, the community has generated many different memes. Many were relevant in a specific period, and some were so deeply etched in memory that it is impossible to imagine Valve's shooter without them. We suggest you familiarize yourself with the best jokes related to CS:GO or just refresh your memory and smile.
DOSIAXGOD
Mikhail Dosia Stolyarov is one of the few esports athletes of the CIS region who managed to become the winner of the CS:GO Major and the world-renowned sexiest player in the discipline. Stolyarov received the nickname X God (Sex God) from Reddit users back in 2016. Initially, CS:GO fans made fun of the player's appearance in this way. However, at that time, Dosia and his organization Gambit Esports decided to turn the situation in his favour and began actively promoting the X God meme. The club released a series of videos dedicated to Dosia, in which a meme with the player's sexuality was used. In one of the videos, supposedly random passers-by girls are asked if they know X God, and all of them, overflowing with enthusiasm, remember Stolyarov.
The esports athlete released several stickers with the mem, where Stolyarov signed as Dosia X God. The community liked it so much that users began to write the nickname X God everywhere Dosia was mentioned. Organizers of various tournaments did not stand aside. They use the meme in every possible way in the commercials of their championships.
SolEk Is "The Best Sniper On the Planet"
The nickname SolEk, for seasoned CS:GO fans, is associated with a terrible game in a sniper's position. The former professional player from Switzerland did not take stars from the sky, but he was able to write his name in the history of Valve's shooter. It's all the fault of the PENTA vs Epsilon match at one of the StarLadder tournaments. SolEk frankly did not play well in that meeting. The player constantly missed and, in general, acted very chaotically. Such a performance of the sniper attracted the attention of the commentators of the match, and they focused all their attention on him, forgetting about the other participants of the match. Casters repeatedly made fun of SolEk's actions, which allowed this joke to take root in fans' minds.
Zeus "Molotov" And "Cyber School"
Danyil Zeus Teslenko is one of the most famous esports athletes from the CIS. The Ukrainian player could easily generate a meme both in the game and outside of it. One of the most memorable moments was the "Molotov Cocktail" story. The first funny situation happened in 2015 at the DreamHack competition. During one of the matches, Natus Vincere played against Counter Logic Gaming. It was a Cobblestone map, score 10:15, 1v1 situation. Teslenko decides to outwit the opponent and get behind him, passing through the Molotov flame. Unfortunately, Zeus did not calculate the amount of his health and died. As a result, "born to win" lost the decisive round. Similar situations happened regularly with Zeus. For example, he could fall from some structure and die.
From that moment on, commentators constantly teased Teslenko and his "cyber school" when one of the cyber athletes died in a fire or fell from a structure on the map. Zeus himself liked the meme. Later, he got a tattoo of a CS:GO CT with a "Molotov cocktail" in his hand.
Chicken As a Symbol of CS:GO
Over the years, the symbol of Counter-Strike has become precisely the chicken that first appeared on the Italy map and pecked at grain. In CS:GO, the chicken model was updated, added to several more maps, and taught to move around the location. Also, the chickens began to run away when the players approached.
Myths and legends have formed around chickens. The most exciting thing is that killing a chicken is a bad tone, and the killer will likely die very quickly and even ruin the whole game. Similar actions of esports athletes at LAN tournaments are greeted with a roar by fans. Robin ropz Kol once had a funny moment with a chicken. In one of the matches for MOUZ, he tried to make a save, but the chicken blocked the doorway. While ropz was trying to squeeze through the door, his opponent caught up with him.
Jam Time
Jame Time has become one of the most popular memes of recent times. As you can guess, the joke is dedicated to the Outsiders sniper Jami Jame Ali. This meme can be considered both positively and negatively. It all started with the careful game style of the esports athlete. He constantly cherished his sniper rifle (AWP) and preferred not to take risks with tiny chances to retake the captured point. In such situations, Jame left for the save, even in the middle of the round.
The fans negatively perceived such a performance from Jami because they wanted to see a dynamic game. After that, fans began to use the phrase Jame Time in cases when a player or his team was going to save.
It [meme Jame Time] has been transforming since the Berlin Major. Everyone is laughing. They laughed that I saved, and then I reached the final of a Major three years ago. And now we see another perception. A man cannot just enter the final of a Major, so he is doing something right.
Now people on FACEIT save the sniper rifle in one vs three, one vs two situations when they have no chance. People already think and play CS:GO differently.
They Talk About My One Taps
In the spring of 2016, a commercial for a gaming mouse with Adil ScreaM Benrlitom was released, which was immediately dissected by fans for quotes. The hottest phrase is "They talk about my one taps". This phrase was printed on T-shirts and is also constantly quoted in streams and videos. This quote completely characterizes ScreaM throughout his career in CS:GO. One tap is at the same time a compliment, trolling, a joke and the most complicated style of gameplay in CS. The legendary video is available here.
My Friend
Yaroslav pashaBiceps Jazhombkovski is one of the most legendary personalities in the history of CS:GO. He conquered an incredible number of fans not only thanks to his success at the professional level and his charisma but also due to his wonderful accent. The English language performed by Yazhombkovski sounded memely, but he was not embarrassed by it. On the contrary, the Polish esports athlete constantly gave interviews on stage and was happy to communicate with the presenters, always calling everyone "my friend". This phrase became his calling card.
The quintessence of the meme was the phrase that pashaBiceps said before one of the matches: "You are not my friend. You are my brother, my friend." His teammate Janusz Snax Pogozelski picked up the joke and suggested that fans who want to know the language as great as pashaBiceps should enrol in Pasha's London School.
There is still a huge amount of memes around CS:GO, and to describe them all, you can spend your whole life. We will tell you more about them when the time comes.
