The competitive landscape of Counter-Strike 2 could witness a significant shift if MAJ3R’s suggestion comes to fruition. The Eternal Fire captain has called for the addition of four classic maps - Cache, Dust2, Train, and Cobblestone - to the current map pool, stirring up the strategic playfield of the game.
Why not bring Cache D2 Train Cbble adding in total 4 maps in the competitve.More entertainment, More strategie, Veto will be more difficult to predict, Team who work more will have advantage about maps pool + bo3 and BO5 finals.
MAJ3R argues that such an expansion would not only enhance entertainment value but also intensify strategic planning. With a more challenging veto process and a potential edge for teams investing time in mastering the enlarged map pool, the move could level up competitive play, especially in BO3 and BO5 finals.
The current map pool consists of:
- Mirage
- Inferno
- Overpass
- Vertigo
- Nuke
- Ancient
- Anubis
Since Valve’s last map pool update in November 2022, which saw Anubis replace Dust2, players and fans have been contemplating the next evolution of play areas. Now, with the PGL Major Copenhagen 2024 concluded, MAJ3R’s proposal sparks a conversation worth following.
Could we see these storied battlegrounds return to competitive glory? Only time will tell.
