Launders LAN 2 received full funding from Nouns: The prize pool has more than doubled from the last tournament

Launders LAN 2 officially kicks off with full support from Nouns, which has significantly increased the prize pool to 25,000 CAD (Canadian Dollars). This achievement doubles the prize money from the previous tournament, making it the largest in history.

First Tournament

The first Launders LAN took place April 20-21 in Toronto, where Mohan “launders” Govindasamy announced the launch of CS revival leagues in North America. And six months after the announcement, details of a second tournament from him have emerged.

The first tournament was won by FLUFFY AIMERS, who beat For Fun in the finals and earned $6,000 CAD for first place. The tournament was run with launders personal money, but this time the organization sponsored the tournament.

Full funding from Nouns

Launders, the commentator and organizer of the event, submitted a proposal to support the tournament in August this year, requesting 39,125 CAD. As a result, 25,001 CAD will go directly to the prize pool, giving Launders LAN 2 the largest prize pool for a Canadian Open tournament. Nouns DAO, an NFT project, supported the motion with a vote of 125 in favor, 7 against and 1 abstention.

Dates and venue

Official dates and venue have not yet been announced, but are tentatively listed as November 30 to December 1, 2024. However, it is possible they will be changed to avoid overlap with the Perfect World Major tournament.
