karrigan: “I think the most important thing is to acknowledge you're in a slump"

FaZe head to Copenhagen hoping to get in shape before IEM Cologne. After initial success in the first seven CS2 LAN tournaments, the team now seems vulnerable. Finn “karrigan” Andersen attributes the quarterfinal series to a “lack of confidence”.

In an interview with HLTV, karrigan shared the team's situation before the start of BLAST Premier: Fall Groups 2024, the team's slump, as well as future opponents and the team's goals.

We tried to improve after Dallas. But winning matches is crucial. When confidence is gone, the duels become tougher and playing at a high level becomes more difficult. The competition is very tough
he said

He also added that they are facing strong teams. Without confidence, they cannot make it to the finals. Their matches are intense but lack the killer instinct of 2022 and 2023. It's hard to instill confidence, he said they need to go back to basics and gain confidence through practice.

I think the most important thing is to recognize that we're in a slump, not just as a player but as a team. The ropz have had slumps before. This one may have dragged on longer than he's used to. But if you can get through it, you get better as a player.
karrigan stated

The ropz stats for last year was a 6.0 rating, at that time with the start of the new season it has worsened and for the last month it is 5.6.

He emphasized that overcoming slumps must be done wisely:

Every player has slumps. It's all about how you come out the other side. Right now it's hard for him to find his way out. We are doing everything to support him but he needs to believe in himself. We know his potential and I'm sure he'll be back soon.

FaZe will start BLAST Premier Fall Groups 2024 in a match against Cloud9, in Group C, in addition to Cloud9 in the group there are G2 and Ninjas in Pyjamas.

Coordination problems come from a variety of factors - lack of time, communication or understanding. Our lack of killer instinct and confidence contrasts with our past successes. Believing in each player to win rounds was a key factor. We are building a stronger foundation so that our “B” game can compete with the “A” game of other teams
he concluded
