Chief Operating Officer Jonas Gunderen leaves NIP

Jonas Gunderen, former Chief Operating Officer of Ninjas in Pyjamas, announced his departure from the Swedish esports organization on Monday, without naming his successor. Gunderen, a former Counter-Strike player, joined NIP in January 2020 after working at North in a similar position. Later, his involvement in the company's esports operations diminished with the appointment of a new esports director and CEO.

Gunderen noted in his LinkedIn post that it was time for him to move on, after NIP transformed from a small company to a global player with over 300 employees and a presence in the Chinese League of Legends league following the merger with ESV5.

He also mentioned the significant step of signing Nicolai "device" Reedtz, who later returned to Astralis, and the recent signing of Danila "headtr1ck" Valitov from NAVI, whom he considered crucial for NIP's future success. Despite changes in the team roster, Gunderen expressed optimism about the future of esports and left intrigue about his next career moves.
