Johnta on ZETA DIVISION elimination: “Patience and hard work will lead us to our goal”

Today, the first elimination matches of the VCT 2025: Pacific Kickoff concluded. Renowned Ukrainian coach Ivan "Johnta" Shevtsov shared his perspective following ZETA DIVISION exit from the tournament after their match against Paper Rex.

Many fans of the Japanese club expressed their disappointment with the team's quick defeat. Criticism flooded ZETA's social media, prompting Ivan to respond and reassure the audience.

Building new rosters always takes time. At the highest level of competition, you’ll be punished for even the smallest imperfections. Even if you have five superstars on your team, you’ll face many shortcomings (just look at NRG '24, for example). The goal is to create a team that is both stable and full of potential. We’re working on that.
he stated

The coach also emphasized that achieving the desired results cannot happen in such a short timeframe and that the team will be better prepared for Stage 1, starting in March.

There are many things we need to improve and do better. We will achieve this. Patience and hard work will lead us to our goal. Overall, this culture of overreaction in VALORANT is absurd. I hope that one day people realize that nothing good or sustainable can be built quickly. But that’s a story for another time.

ZETA DIVISION lost to Paper Rex 2:0 in the VCT 2025: Pacific Kickoff, exiting the tournament without a single victory.
