Jame About the IEM Rio Major: "I Felt Throughout the Tournament That My Team Could Play Any CS:GO"

The Outsiders captain gave a long interview after winning the IEM Rio Major.

A week ago, Outsiders won the IEM Rio Major 2022, beating Heroic with a score of 2-0 in the finals. The captain of the Ali Jame Djami gave a detailed interview to the cybersport.ru, in which he shared details about the victory.

After winning the Major, the coach of Outsiders talked about the fact that the team learned a lot after meeting with Astralis at the afterparty after the Berlin Major, where AVANGAR (now Outsiders) reached the final and lost it. Jame was asked a question about this conversation.

We mainly communicated with Magisk. He came to us and told us many exciting things, giving us some advice. We were generally "green" then. He said they knew what maps we would pick, so they were ready for Dust2 and Inferno, which they preferred to pick. Therefore, they adjusted the game for us. <...> And three years later, this played into our hands since, during the tournament, players did not change their game radically. They believed in what was working. And I felt throughout the tournament that my team could play any CS:GO that would be needed to win a single match.

Jame also talked about his refusals to give interviews before matches.

I never do pre-match and inter-map interviews. And even at a press conference the day before an important tournament, I don't want to do it. According to my feelings, it sprays you and wastes your strength, especially if you start thinking in English. It is not so easy. I try to abstract from everything: social networks, other people, and life problems.

The Outsiders captain also talked about the Jame Time meme.

The meme has been transformed since the Berlin Major. Everyone is laughing, laughing that I saved, and then I won the Major three years ago, and it's already got a different perception. A man cannot just enter the final of a Major, so he is doing something right. People on Faceit now use sniper rifles in 1v3 and 1v2 when they have no chance. People already think differently and play CS:GO. My advice: don't follow the economy. One taps are very cool.
