The last tier-1 tournament for CS:GO has come to its logical conclusion. Team Heroic emerged as the winners of the BLAST Premier: Spring Final 2023, and their rifler Jacob "Jabbi" Naigard received his well-deserved MVP medal.
Now, who among the tournament participants showed the most outstanding individual performance during the competition? To help you understand this question, we have assembled a select top five of the most remarkable players of the tournament.
MVP - Jabbi (rating 6.5)
The Danish rifler Jacob "Jabbi" Naigard received the deserved MVP award. It was him who left no chances for the opponents in the final game against Team Vitality.
It was Jabbi who excelled above all in the championship's final, with a rating of 6.6.
And his overall player rating for the entire tournament was 6.5, which is the best result among his teammates.
After the victory, Jabbi also gave a brief interview where he answered some interesting questions:
There couldn't be a better way to end the season. We were so close many times, but we choked, as people say, in some finals and semifinals. But yesterday, we overcame a small curse - beating the underdogs in the semifinals, so we proved a lot to ourselves in this tournament, and we just know that we can trust each other, do everything right, and win trophies. [What do you think took the team to a new level?] Obviously, our style. That's why I'm really confident in how we're playing now and what I need to do to help the team. I know where I can position myself on the map in certain rounds and so on, and I think it helps a lot instead of asking what to do every round. I just play my own game.
m0NESY (rating 6.8)
The player's rating for the entire tournament was 6.8, and he also secured the second position in the top list of most successful entry fraggers. m0NESY's rating in this category was 0.153.
Only his teammate Niko managed to surpass him, with a rating of 0.167.
blameF (rating 6.8)
Benjamin "blameF" Bremer is one of the best lurkers or, as such players are also called, exit fraggers. Despite the fact that the tournament ended for the Dane in the group stage, and even despite all the matches lost in the tournament.
blameF's rating still turned out to be very high at 6.8! Additionally, it was Benjamin who became the best player in the tournament in terms of successful kills with primary rifles. His rating in this category was 0.429.
As for the tournament results, the Astralis team finished last and earned $10,000.
Niko (rating 6.8)
Another player from G2 made it into our top list, namely the Bosnian rifler Nikola "Niko" Kovač, whose rating for the entire tournament was 6.8.
It was precisely Nikola who became the best entry fragger of the tournament. His rating in this category was 0.167!
Moreover, it was Niko who won the highest number of clutches among his entire team, specifically:
- 1v2 clutches - 1 time
- 1v1 clutches - 2 times
This strongly demonstrates how well the G2 team plays together and constantly trades off.
ZywOo (rating 6.5)
The champion of the past Major, the Most Valuable Player of the Major, is none other than the Team Vitality sniper Mathieu "ZywOo" Herbaut. At the BLAST Premier: Spring Final 2023, Mathieu once again led his team to the tournament's final, where, unfortunately, they couldn't defeat Team Heroic.
ZywOo's regular rating was 6.5, which is a top-5 performance in the tournament. But what may surprise you is his pistol rating, which stands at 0.070!
Additionally, the French player was the only one in his team to achieve an ace during the tournament!
The BLAST Premier: Spring Final 2023 took place from June 7th to 11th in Washington, USA. Eight teams competed for a prize pool of $425,000 and a slot in the BLAST Premier: World Final 2023. Detailed event statistics and results are available on the championship's page.
The next LAN event by BLAST will be the BLAST Premier: Fall Groups 2023 in Copenhagen, which will feature 12 partner clubs. Until then, teams will be on their summer break.
