In July, the average CS:GO online player count decreased by 204.2 thousand — the largest outflow since the game's release

The average online player count for CS:GO in July 2023 amounted to 881.69 thousand users. This figure is 204.2 thousand users less than in June of the same year. This information was shared by the SteamCharts portal.

The reduction in CS:GO's online player base in July set a negative record for the Valve shooter. Previously, the most significant decline in online players occurred in June 2021, when the number of players decreased by 110.5 thousand compared to the previous month.

In March 2023, Valve announced the launch of the closed beta testing for Counter-Strike 2, an updated version of the shooter on the Source 2 engine. The official release of the game is planned for the summer of the current year, but the exact date has not yet been announced by the developers. At the same time, CS2 regularly receives updates, and on July 19, a new wave of key distribution to the beta version of the shooter took place.
