In his latest interview, English-speaking analyst Lucas Bubzkji Andersen spoke about becoming a professional player. He mentioned that he believes in talent in Counter-Strike.
His main point was that there are many players who work hard but achieve nothing. And then there are the talented lucky ones.
Bubzkji noted that on his path he encountered experienced players who worked hard but could not achieve significant success. At the same time, some players only attended training and, despite this, showed tough gameplay.
According to Bubzkji, when you reach the pro level, you need to quickly understand the game. You must grasp the tactical and communicative components. That's where "natural talent" plays a role. In my experience, not everyone can learn this, especially at the pace required.
Meanwhile, many ordinary people could become professionals/half if they worked hard. Everyone wants to be the next ZywOo and NiKo, but the competition is too great. Now it's better to try being an IGL and shoot well.
Remember, Bubzkji himself left Astralis at the beginning of 2022 and then moved into analysis and commentary of various tier-1 championships.
