In his latest interview, G2 Esports team captain Rasmus HooXi Nielsen commented on the recent replacement of Justin jks Savage with Nemanja nexa Isaković. He also discussed the team's results for the year 2023.
Here is what team captain HooXi says about nexa joining the team:
I think we can be happy with what we've achieved. There are always ups and downs, a year in Counter-Strike is like ten years of ordinary life, like a dog's life in some sense (laughs)! It's hard to look back on the past year, but in any case, three trophies, two of which are victories in Katowice and Cologne. We are perfectionists, we compete and want to perform better at majors, that's my goal. The next one will be in Copenhagen, I really want to do well, but it will be hard to play in a new game with so much randomness.
In 2023, G2 Esports showed excellent results even before the release of Counter-Strike 2, their main victories for the year were:
And here is how HooXi comments on the future of his team:
I think everyone agrees that we are a strong team in terms of firepower. We need more stable communication. Everyone knows that jks is good, I would say, he is always calm. He just never gets excited and never tilts, we need someone on the team who can improve the team spirit and be a leader, like me.I don’t expect nexa to be excellent individually, especially at the beginning of his journey with us, as he has been a captain for four years. I think the player will be able to improve his game.
HooXi also expressed confidence in nexa's abilities, noting that the team is familiar with his play and had already had experience playing together. He emphasized that in the current unstable situation, the team was confident in its decision to bring in nexa, avoiding last-minute risks.
Nielsen also mentioned that the final decision to bring in a player is always made by the management, but he is confident that all team members would support the choice of nexa, knowing his capabilities and having experience playing together.
Recall that the first tournament for the team in the new lineup will be BLAST Premier: World Final 2023, and their first opponents will be MOUZ. You can find more about this tournament here.
