The Swedish national team took first place in the IESF national team championship, a tournament whose already not the best reputation hit rock bottom with the situation of allowing Russian cyber athletes to use the symbolism of their country.
In the final, the Swedes defeated Germany with a score of 2:0 and earned $50,000 for the first place, not losing a single map throughout the tournament.
At the end of the championship, Swedish cyber athlete Jacka "Jackinho" Ströma Mattso was photographed with the cup near the trash bin. It remains only to guess whether this is trolling, a protest against the poor organization of the competition, or just a coincidence.
It is worth reminding that the Swedish eSports Federation was among those who supported the protest of the Ukrainian side on the issue of lifting the ban on Russian symbolism at IESF tournaments. It was joined by a number of other European countries, as well as Canada.
