In an exclusive interview with Players ,the emerging Counter-Strike talent Gizmy, discussed his unexpectedly rapid progression from the Monte academy to its main roster. Having joined Monte's academy in November 2023, Gizmy was surprised to find himself part of the main team by March 2024, a much quicker transition than he had anticipated.
Gizmy credits his rapid ascent to the strong performances of his academy team. "We didn’t play many matches, but we decimated several teams," he remarks, highlighting the quality of Counter-Strike they delivered, which promptly earned him a spot on the main roster. His swift promotion was a surprise, yet a well-deserved one given the circumstances.
Amid this transition, Gizmy also touches on the pressures that come with being a new face in a leading team, especially during a trial period in the main squad. He remains focused on winning games rather than the looming uncertainty of whether he'll secure a permanent spot. "I consider myself a part of the team and work on proving myself," he states confidently, undisturbed by the trial's outcome.
The interview also veers into the team's current dynamics and future potentials. Gizmy hints at potential candidates from Monte Gen who might soon join the main lineup, with players like 'leen' and 'n0te' showing promise in their respective roles. As for Gizmy's own future, his next big challenge is the upcoming match against Forze in the EPL, a significant confrontation that will test his abilities on an international stage.
As Monte faces a pivotal moment, Gizmy’s story from an academy player to a potential key player in the main squad encapsulates the relentless pace and high stakes of professional esports. His journey reflects not just personal ambition, but also the rapid shifts that define careers in competitive gaming.
