Gen.G has paused its VALORANT Game Changers (GC) division project in Saudi Arabia due to a lack of sponsorships

The South Korean esports organization Gen.G had planned to establish a VALORANT Game Changers (GC) division in Saudi Arabia as part of its expansion in the MENA (Middle East and North Africa) region. However, the project was put on hold due to an inability to secure the necessary funding from sponsors.

This was reported by Ardy, a former Gen.G Academy coach and former coach of The Mongolz VALORANT, who was set to become the coach of the new GC division. During the planning phase, Japanese player HANE, who previously played for REIGNITE, was also expected to join the team.

Ardy commented on X (formerly Twitter):

I want to reiterate that I have no ill feelings toward Gen.G. They gave me the opportunity to grow as a coach and provided me with the biggest chance of my life when I worked in the academy. However, the fact that I turned down other offers to fully commit to this project, only for it to collapse before my eyes, is genuinely disappointing.

Thus, Gen.G expansion plans in the MENA region have encountered financial challenges, leading to the suspension of the project.
