“Just a kernel driver and knowledge of actual cheats” - GamerDoc on how CS2 can get rid of cheaters

ThourCS2 recently posted an interesting dialog on social network X with GamerDoc, a senior analyst for Vanguard's anti-chit Vanguard, which protects the game Valorant from cheaters. In the conversation, GamerDoc shared his opinion on how Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) can combat cheating. This post has now been removed from X.

According to GamerDoc, using data, artificial intelligence, or other clever methods at the user level is not enough to effectively prevent cheating. The main way to solve the problem is by integrating a kernel driver that allows the system to have in-depth access to the operations performed on the computer and understanding the actual methods that modern cheaters use.

“need a kernel driver and be up to speed with what current cheats are out there and keep iterating on it, if you snooze, you lose, simple as that.” - GamerDoc noted.

The importance of combating cheating in CS2 is becoming more and more apparent with the rise of rogue players in Premier mode and beyond. The thoughts shared by GamerDoc help us realize that simple solutions are not enough to effectively combat this problem.
