G2 reached the finals of the lower grid of IEM Cologne 2024

In the second round of the lower group stage grid at IEM Cologne 2024, G2 and Astralis played. For many it was unexpected, because if you look at this match 5 years ago, it could have been a Major final.

For the teams this is the first meeting in the new lineup, which will be an interesting match, because the new G2 lineup knows how to surprise. At the first tournament with the new roster they reached the finals, but now they lost their first match against SAW.

The third map was Ancient, where G2 started to repeat the situation like on Dust 2. But this time they took fewer rounds, but finished the half, still with a resounding score of 9-3. In the second half G2 continued their dominance and won with a score of 13-3.

About m0NESY game

Ilya "m0NESY" Osipov has been showing decent results for a while now, but he has been a great player lately. This time he finished the game against Astralis with a 7.7 rating and a 46-27 statistic against KD.

m0NESY isn't as good after Snax joined - that's unfortunate, but NiKo looks as good as he used to.
