Swani noted that both matches, in which the team suffered defeats, were within their grasp. On the decisive map Nuke in the quarterfinals, the buy-rounds did not go in favor of G2, which, according to the coach, led to the team's failure in the tournament.
"I feel like both matches were in our hands. Against FaZe, we should have easily closed it out, and here, on Inferno, we had perfect reads, we knew what they were doing, and we still lost. Then on Nuke, the first buy-rounds didn't go our way, and we just failed the event,"
This marks the second time that G2 has been defeated while dominating on their map choice, indicating issues with stability and closing out matches. According to Swani, the team had every chance to win, but they failed to capitalize on them.
Starting next year, the role of G2's head coach will be taken over by Wiktor "TaZ" Wojtas, a Counter-Strike legend, who may bring new ideas and approaches to the team. This makes him the third member of the golden Polish five to coach a top-tier team. Previously, Filip "NEO" Kubski led FaZe, and Jakub "kuben" Gurczyński began working with ENCE.
