The first open qualifier for the PGL Major Copenhagen 2024 for the European region is nearly complete. However, we already know who has advanced to the closed qualifiers for the first CS2 major.
In total, 844 teams registered for the qualifier, which lasted two days. To advance further, teams had to win 12 matches in a row, as the tournament was played in a Single Elimination format, without a lower bracket.

The first qualification was held on the Challengermode platform, one of the worst platforms for holding qualifiers for more than 4500 players. The fact that the start of the qualifiers was planned for 17:00, and the first matches began at 18:30 already says a lot.
The platform's website several times simply gave a 404 error, and all matches were suspended. The platform's servers, on which the games were held, could disconnect right during the game, and administrators spent at least 30 minutes resolving this issue. Some players felt that only 4-5 administrators were overseeing the qualifiers, who physically could not process all requests in time.

The next open qualifier is scheduled for January 10, 2024. The closed part will start on January 18.
