Performing on stage at IEM Rio, even in a show match, revived former feelings in Fernando "fer" Alvarenga. The two-time Major champion admitted that participating in the event, which concluded last Sunday, rekindled his desire to return to professional Counter-Strike.

"I won’t lie, I want to come back. I went there and told chelo: 'Brother, I don’t even remember how to set everything up, help me.' It's an amazing energy, having fans nearby – it's what I lived for many years, and I really miss it," fer shared in an interview with Dust2 Brasil.

Fer's Current Status and Plans

Fer also commented on his current status, emphasizing that he has not permanently retired but temporarily paused his gaming activities. "I say I'm retired because I'm not playing, but if something interesting comes up, I won't hesitate." He is currently engaged in streaming and partnering with others, but he is ready to return if an appropriate offer arises. "If a cool opportunity comes up that I can invest in, I think I'll come back," the player added.

When might this return happen? According to fer, he is ready to come back even before the RMR for the Perfect World Shanghai Major, although the team rosters for the tournament are already finalized. "If something worthwhile shows up tomorrow, I'm heading to China as well. That's life," concluded fer.

Opinion on FURIA's Performance

Commenting on the performance of Brazilian teams at IEM Rio, fer noted that he followed the matches of FURIA led by Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo the most. He expressed that the team's failure was mainly due to insufficient communication. "They played great in the group, but it didn’t work out yesterday. I think communication issues play a major role. The team can't organize effective interactions in rounds," said fer.

He also added that poor communication is evident in how FURIA loses their advantage in certain moments: "When you're in a 5x3 situation on defense, and you leave the point and start taking risks – that's not heroic, it's just a lack of communication."

Potential of FURIA and Solutions

Despite the difficulties, fer believes FURIA can correct the situation thanks to FalleN's experience and other players. "I'm sure they can improve communication. There is FalleN with his experience, there's guerri, and I think they can discuss the problem and improve the team's play," fer concluded.
