FaZe and 9INE get eliminated from Gamers8 after their first match

FaZe and 9INE were among the last-place teams at Gamers8, a $1,000,000 tournament in Saudi Arabia. Both teams earned $15,000 for finishing 9th-16th.

The Poles from 9INE are constant dark horses at almost every championship, but today they were not lucky. A strong-willed victory in overtime against G2 on the first map Vertigo (19:17) was followed by losses to Ancient and Nuke (12:16 on both maps).

In many ways, G2's passage to the quarterfinals was due to the efforts of the Kovacs duo, who made 75 or more frags each. So far, it doesn't look like the team has lost its form after winning IEM Cologne 2023.

It seems that FaZe had a small crisis, because of which their tactics simply stopped working. Perhaps the departure of their coach and analyst had something to do with it, but a 1-2 defeat against Virtus.pro obviously doesn't bode well.

The defeat didn't stop Russell "Twistzz" Van Dalken from becoming the best player of the last bo3. He achieved this with 16 multi-kills and the best kill-to-death ratio (62/53).

G2 and VP will play against each other in the quarterfinals of the tournament on August 18 at 21:00. Both teams have already guaranteed themselves $35,000 in prize money.

Gamers8 2023 CS:GO will take place on August 16-20 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Teams will compete for a million dollars prize pool. You can follow the schedule, results and news of the tournament here.
