Falcons, after a disappointing performance at BLAST Premier: Fall Groups 2024, made it to BLAST Premier: Fall Showdown 2024 where they were able to get past three opponents and qualify for BLAST Premier: Fall Final 2024.
Their play at the tournament has improved a bit and this is at a time when Nikola “NiKo” Kovač is rumored to be joining the team.
Road to the finals
Falcons started their journey with a solid 2-0 win over M80, which allowed them to advance to the quarterfinals. Where they met Complexity, with whom they had a tighter game than the first.
But in a tense struggle they managed to defeat Complexity with a close score of 2-1, which secured them a place in the final of the tournament.
Final
The final match started with the map Vertigo, chosen by Falcons, where they started the first half confidently with a score of 10-2, but almost gave away a kambeck in the second half. Virtus Pro managed to come back to a score of 12-10, but gave up a 1-in-4 clutch for Alvaro “SunPayus” Garcia in the next round.
The second map was Mirage, chosen by Virtus.pro, but despite this they again lost the first half with a resounding score of 9-3, but this time they couldn't even come close to winning 10 rounds and lost with a score of 13-6.
Best Player
The title of best player went to Emil “Magisk” Reif, who had a great series in his 26 years. His rating for this match was 7.1, which is very cool in such an important match.
Next Tournaments
For Falcons the next tournament will be IEM Rio 2024 Europe Closed Qualifier, where they will start their performance tomorrow against OG. Virtus.pro, on the other hand, will be preparing for ESL Pro League Season 20, where they will play in Group D, but the exact dates of their matches are still unknown.
