[Exclusive] xfl0ud about HEROIC at BLAST Bounty Spring 2025: "I don’t think we are a dark horse — we are the Golden horse!"

Bo3.gg spoke with the new member of HEROIC's CS2 roster, Yasin "xfl0ud" Koç. He shared insights on how his adaptation to the new team is going, assessed HEROIC's chances at BLAST Bounty Spring 2025, and discussed who "won" the transfer window. Read about this and much more in our interview.

Do you feel certain expectations after joining HEROIC? What expectations are you laying before yourself for this year?

I mean 2024 was already a solid year for me, individually I hit some of my peaks but of course, HEROIC means more responsibility and more stability and I will do whatever I need to make 2025 way better than the previous years.

What is your impression of SunPayus & tN1R? How do they fit into your core trio mindset and play style?

Building chemistry is gonna start from zero that is for sure. I think SunPayus is a very solid AWP with being very mobile and vocal which will take away a lot of responsibility from me. But from the other side, we as the previous Sangal core are not used to a very vocal AWP, so it will take some time to get used to. About tN1R, his game style is very strong, he can produce multi-kills from almost any situation.

For now, I reckon you guys are more like the “dark horse”. Do you feel the same? How do you assess the level of competition at BLAST and HEROIC’s place within it?

I don’t think we are a dark horse in the current situation, we are the Golden horse 🙂. We have a better roster with more skill, more knowledge, and a better culture. We will just need some time to adapt to it.

What are your impressions from the first training sessions with HEROIC? How does their approach differ from that of your previous teams? Obviously Heroic is a much more established name in the CS2 community, what do they bring to the table organisation-wise that you might now have been having in previous clubs?

HEROIC is a legendary organization and over time we will see the benefits it is being part of such a big club. But already you can see the culture changing when you are playing under a S-tier organization. I can just say they have a lot of staff helping out with everything, so you don't need to think about much else than playing your game and they help you and remind you of every little detail that needs to be done.

I first heard about you after your performance at the CCT Season 1 Central Europe Malta Finals. This tournament is probably the biggest win of yours so far, and it's a LAN event. With Heroic you should expect more LAN events, will it make it easier for you to play, or harder?

I like to play LAN events, even though I haven’t managed to play on a stage yet. LANs are always fun and I enjoy them a lot more than online games. That CCT trophy is very special but I am sure we will get better trophies this season.

A couple of words about the Turkish community. In the past couple of years, you guys went miles ahead from where you were before. What prompted that in the first place?

We are passionate, we love competition and we enjoy any kind of sport.

What is your player’s routine?

My routine is a cup of good coffee and 300 kills in a deathmatch before the first practice. With MR12 we have 10-15 minutes between praccs, so I like to use that gap with more deathmatch & aimbotz. When we’re done with team pracc I will check 2-3 demos. I also like to play KZ & Surf weekly.

You’ve played 22,475 hours on CS. It’s equivalent to 2.5 years of game time. Do you take a break from the game ever and how do you spend your time if not playing?

I have some beef with “a lot of free time” to be honest. Time passes very slowly outside of CS. I was playing more pugs or doing more ‘fun’ things before being a pro but now it is more like 8-10 hours of practice, 1-2 hours of individual work, and 1-2 hours of demo/utility/lingering solo on the server. When I’m not spending time in CS I like to spend time with my girlfriend. I also enjoy normal things like cooking and eating good food, and watching some TV series or sports. I live life solo a lot.

What do you think about the Train? Is it ready for the competitive scene? Do you like the side's balance?

Will be hard to adapt since the map is reworked a lot but who does not like a challenge? I think it is still CT-sided but you need very good communication and synchronization with your mates more than on other maps.

Was there a particular transfer this season that got you the most hyped and why? Which team do you think “won” the transfer window (if not your team)?

I think this season will be the most exciting one, with many changes in the scene that will give you a good opportunity to go to the top. I think Team Vitality might be the winner of the transfer season.
