Evil Geniuses head coach Daniel "Vorborg" Vorborg is currently searching for a new team as the CS:GO roster undergoes changes, sources tell Dexerto.
According to sources, the Danish coach is not included in the latest developments at EG, as the North American organization prepares to reorganize the team after a disappointing season.
For now, it remains unclear who will lead the new version of Evil Geniuses. One option being considered is the possible return of strategic coach Damien "maLeK" Marcel, as reported by Guillaume "neL" Rathje.

Vorborg previously served as director of cybersports at Copenhagen Flames, where he was also co-owner. He coached the Danish team twice between 2019 and 2022. During his second stint, the team achieved notable success at Stockholm and Antwerp CS:GO Majors tournaments. (In Stockholm, he led the team since Faruk "pita" Pita was temporarily ineligible for Majors, and didn't officially lead the team until January 2022.)
After a quarterfinal appearance at the Antwerp Major tournament, the players parted ways and Vorborg joined Evil Geniuses. He couldn't repeat the same success, however, and the highlight of the season was a 2-1 victory over Heroic in the team's first match at this year's BLAST Premier Spring Groups.
After IEM Dallas, the last tournament of the season, Vorborg expressed doubts about his future in the draft.
Ask Valens about that.
I would like to stay. I'm determined to keep working with EG as long as they want me here. I want to prove my worth and show that I can succeed at EG.
Right now EG is considering players like this for their new lineup:
- Audric "JACKZ" Jug
- Jonathan "EliGE" Jablonowski
- Aleksandr "zorte" Zagodyrenko
- Denis "electroNic" Sharipov
This is due to the fact that EG is taking a "broad approach in evaluating options," according to Dust2.us.

Evil Geniuses plans to return to the game with a new lineup in mid-July when they participate in BLAST Premier Fall Groups. The team will also compete in ESL Pro League Season 18 and the $600,000 Thunderpick CS:GO World Championship.
