The coach took the blame for the team's poor performance.
Evil Geniuses coach Daniel Vorborg Vorborg spoke out after being kicked out of the closed qualifiers at RMR and defended the club's management.
My responsibility as a head coach was to make the team perform well, and I failed.
In addition to the fact that Vorborg took responsibility for the poor performance, he also defended the organization's management.
The management of EG always encouraged me, even when I didn't believe that I deserved it, and never pressured me <…> As long as I remain the head coach of EG, I will continue to do everything I can to repay the trust, support, and resources they gave me.
Are EG managers not to blame?
Through Vorborg's messages, a red line runs through the thought that the management of the Evil Geniuses organization is not responsible for the result and the management is doing everything in its power. Vorborg can take the blame as much as he wants, but it is no longer possible to defend the administration of EG.
The organization has endless resources and three CS:GO teams, from which it has been impossible to assemble one good squad for over six months. At the same time, Heroic and G2 manage only five players and are at the top of the world ranking of different tournament operators.
At the same time, the eSports community as a whole complains about EG in other disciplines as well. For example, in Dota 2, after five years with the team, the club simply gave up on them and didn't even make a farewell video. Furthermore, the captain of this roster says that the players had no contact with the management.
However, CS:GO is still the worst discipline of Evil Geniuses, and apparently, there is nothing the organization can do to improve the results.
What should EG do?
Since the club already has three CS:GO teams, the organization needs to continue juggling rosters and players. In addition, Evil Geniuses needs to update the management, namely the CS department. The club needs to choose those people who understand the discipline. The team needs resource support and help in making decisions from competent people.
When will Evil Geniuses play?
Evil Geniuses will participate in ESL Pro League Season 17, starting on February 22. EG's first match will take place on February 23. All information about the event is available here.
