ESIC Ended the Ban Of HUNDEN Ahead Of Schedule, Agreeing On Cooperation

One of the most controversial coaches on the CS:GO pro scene will soon be able to return to work.

The Esports Integrity Commission (ESIC) has pardoned former Heroic coach Nikolay HUNDEN Petersen, who was banned in August 2021 for two years for leaking data from the Heroic tactics folder to a member of another club before IEM Cologne 2021.

As a result of the meeting, HUNDEN agreed to cooperate with the Commission, and the organization will review its policy in terms of compliance with practices in esports.

The Dane said he would not comment on the incident. Instead, he thanked the lawyers who helped him.

Where Should the Scandalous Coach Go Now?

Even though, before the incident with Heroic, Nikolay was also involved in using the coaching bug, HUNDEN has already started courting Astralis. The fact is that the club not so long ago sent Trace to the reserve, appointed Casle as a temporary coach, and Petersen's dubious reputation is unlikely to become an obstacle for the organization if you remember their statements.

Astralis said that "they will not hesitate to offer HUNDEN to become a coach or analyst" after the ban ends. But, for now, Astralis have no coach.

In the eyes of CS:GO fans, ESIC remains an incomprehensible bureaucratic superstructure that becomes more challenging to take seriously every year. But HUNDEN got a chance for rehabilitation. So, it is possible that after the winter break and before the start of IEM Katowice 2023 or EPL Season 17, Nikolay will be in some team.
