Director of Evil Geniuses named the conditions under which the club may make changes to the CS:GO lineup

In the AMA session, the director of the Evil Geniuses CS:GO division, Soham valens Chowdhury, stated that the future of the lineup depends on the results of the upcoming IEM Dallas 2023, which starts at the end of May.

Yes, in case of failure in Dallas, we will consider making changes to the lineup. Often, our evaluation process of the lineup takes place in the middle and at the end of each season. The main factors are the merits and potential contribution of each player to the team.

Considering the disappointing results of the roster before and after the arrival of refrezh (5-8th place in online tournaments among tier-2/3 teams), we cannot rely on EG's success in Dallas. In their group, the team only has a chance to beat Grayhound or Complexity.

The second lineup (EG Black) remains important for the organization. According to valens, there was a consideration to turn this roster into the main one.

We discussed both promoting individual players to the main lineup (for example, HexT and wiz) and promoting the entire EG Black team. Each player has their strengths and weaknesses, but I like to consider all options. The current form and factors related to success at the tier-1 level, both factors are important!

Attempts to assemble a competitive lineup with North American players can take a considerable amount of time. Perhaps the management should consider buying out some players from GamerLegion, ITB, or Apkes if the budget allows it.

Remember that Evil Geniuses' first match at IEM Dallas 2023 will take place in Group B against FaZe Clan on May 29th at 21:30. The tournament will last until June 4th, with a prize pool of $250,000 and one slot for IEM Cologne 2023 up for grabs.
