dupreeh talks about his experience playing with AWP

Peter "dupreeh" Rasmussen, who recently joined the Preasy team replacing sniper Niko "nicoodoz" Tamjidi, shared his thoughts on playing with the AWP in an interview during the BLAST Premier: World Final 2023.

He admitted that being unpredictable as a sniper was a challenge that contradicted his natural instincts as a rifler. Dupreeh emphasized that playing AWP in Counter-Strike 2 is extremely difficult, especially against teams that adapt to his playing style.

When I started they had no idea how I would approach the game, they couldn't prepare for me, didn't use as much utility, it was easy to get kills, but when they start to figure you out and counter-strat you, it's so much more complicated. That's where I think the good AWP players need to be really good at being unpredictable and doing other things, hitting the crazy shots in high-pressure situations, and I don't think I excelled at that, and it goes against my natural instincts and how I play the game.

Dupreeh, who once took on the role of AWP player in Astralis after the departure of Nicolai "dev1ce" Reedtz, stood out at BLAST Pro Series Copenhagen 2017, helping the team finish second in the tournament. He also played the sniper role for a short period in 2021.

At Preasy, where there is no dedicated sniper, dupreeh might again take up this position. In the past, Ismail "refrezh" Ali and Thomas "TMB" Bundsbæk also played the role of the main sniper, so it is unknown who will take on these duties in the new lineup.
