dev1ce: "I like that the AWP is not as OP, as it was in CS:GO"

Before the start of the Counter-Strike2 Asia Championship 2023Astralis team sniper Nicolai "dev1ce" Reedtz gave a major interview where he discussed his feelings about the new game and signing a new agreement with the Danish organization Astralis. The Astralis player also said that he would adapt to the new mechanics of the game and had been preparing for a long time with the team for their first LAN tournament in CS2.

Many professional players had previously stated that playing with a sniper rifle has become much more difficult, and it is no longer as cool due to changes in flickshot mechanics and the introduction of 'subtick' into the game. But here's how dev1ce describes the situation with the new AWP:

In the beginning. It was really hard to AWP. I think they're already doing a lot of stuff to help with interpolation and a lot of stuff, so it's hard to say because you don't really get direct comments on what the direction is with the game.I like the direction of the game and where it's headed with the AWP, that it's not as OP as it was in CS:GO. I feel like the challenge has been really nice and hopefully there's a little bit of difference with the LAN ping and stuff like that to how the AWPing feels when you look at the peaker's advantage and interpolation and stuff like that.

Astralis also mentioned that he has already managed to extend his contract with Astralis and explained why he made such a decision:

For me it was a good time to sit down with the guys at Astralis, it was a year after I came back from basically not playing for a year. Getting a deal that reflects what I think I can bring to the table and everything was important for me, and just to renew it was obviously good. There was some interest as well from other teams, and I just feel like Denmark, and especially Astralis, is the place I want to be.
