Deal details: Liquid was willing to pay $750 000 to Evil Genius for Cerq and Brehze

The well-known English-speaking analyst and commentator Richard Lewis revealed details on his Twitter about the failed transfer of Cerq and Brehze to Team Liquid in 2020.

Details of Team Liquid players' transfer

Team Liquid was willing to pay Evil Genius $750 000 for Cerq and Brehze, but after negotiations, coach zews convinced the players to stay in the team, arguing that they had been playing together for a long time. The club promised improved conditions in the contract in exchange for their remaining in the team.

The players felt that they were fools because they refused to play in the dream team. The tentative team lineup was as follows: EliGe, Stewie2k, NAF, CeRq, and Brehze. But after the contracts were ready, many players began to doubt, as the organization set a buyout price of $2,200,000 for each player!

So, tarik refused to sign the contract at all.

Also,  Evil Genius was the best team in the world for a week at that moment and also did not leave the TOP-10 of the rating until the end of the year.

At the end of this story NAF wanted to join the team. The organization wanted to replace tarik with NAF. Ethan got tired of all this drama and joined Valorant. There is also an assumption that the Evil Genius organization did not want to sell players so as not to lose their earned RMR points then.

How are Cerq and Brehze now?

Bulgarian Tsvetelin Cerq Dimitrov Mangalski was kicked out of EG at the beginning of this year. And so far, he has not found himself in a new organization. During all his time as part of EG, he won lots of tier-1 tournaments, and also during his entire career, he was able to earn $406,282

But Brehze continues to play for EG. The American was also able to win a sufficient number of tier-1 tournaments during his career and earn $424,928

What about Evil Genius?

They constantly play tier-2 and tier-3 tournaments, sometimes successfully or sometimes not.

The team played BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023: American RMR, but ultimately failed the performance, took 9-12th place, and had no chance to get to the last Major in Paris.
