Cache's creator, Sean 'FMPONE' Snelling, answered a fan's question about the future of the Cache map in Counter-Strike 2. The developer shared this information on Twitter.
Cache was added to CS:GO along with the launch of the "Breakout" operation. In 2019, it was removed from the active map pool and replaced by the Vertigo map. Later, an updated version of Cache was returned to the game, but it was never added to the official competitive map pool. Some players were extremely dissatisfied with the new design of the map, especially its green color scheme.
[What will happen to Cache in CS2?] Head to toe remake which will be more faithful to the active duty cache version.
On the night of July 18, Valve added the Overpass and Vertigo maps to CS2, and the "Duo" mode became available. You can read more about the update in the material.
