At the end of every Counter-Strike Major, there is always a plethora of roster moves. While we have already seen some big ones with the likes of Astralis swapping out Benjamin “blameF” Bremer for Alexandre “Bro” Bro and Falcons changing Mohammad “BOROS” Malhad for Peter “dupreeh” Rasmussen, teams who actually made the Major and are disappointed with their performance at the event are bound to also make changes.
With that in mind, while at the PGL Major Copenhagen, we decided to ask the talent on hand which teams they would choose to make a roster change to, as well as the roster change they would make to that team.
Brandon “BDog” Rawlings
Bo3: Which team would you make a roster change to?
Bo3: What change would you make?
Neo “Ne0kai” Caine
Bo3: Which team would you make a roster change to?
Ne0kai: FURIA is the first one, we saw in the Elimination Stage they went 0-3 and it's not good enough for what is meant to be the premium Brazilian team. The fact that other Brazilian teams are doing better than them means that they're the easy one.
Bo3: What change would you make?
Ne0kai: They should remove arT for biguzera, but you could actually look at changing AWPer as well. FalleN is not quite himself anymore so you could look at nqz if you want to take a risk, he's done well for Legacy but he's a little inconsistent. You could also look at previous paiN guys, zevy isn't that bad and can give an injection of firepower from a youngster.
Travis “Trav” Landaw Mott
Bo3: Which team would you make a roster change to?
Trav: I'd probably have to go with FURIA. I think the Brazilian scene has shown itself really well at this Major and for them to not outperform paiN or Imperial is a big shock. Complexity could also make a change.
Bo3: What change would you make?
Trav: For me, the obvious choice is biguzera. Everyone's been saying it for a while and arT, even though he's loved by everyone on the team, has just been on the team for too long now. It's time to move on.
As for Complexity, you'd look to move on from hallzerk, but there aren't many choices out there. You could say oSee, but he hasn't been playing very well in CS2 at all in NRG so I wouldn't go for that myself, and that's what I mean when I say there isn't many options, but I do think there is an upgrade on hallzerk that could come through even though he played okay at this Major.
Adam “Dinko” Hawthorne
Bo3: Which team would you make a roster change to?
Bo3: What change should they make?
Dinko: They have no AWPer, so they should get rid of Ax1Le and get zorte, that would be a good move in my head. zorte has a bit more experience under his belt now, he's a talented AWPer that's been wasted in this BetBoom team, I think Cloud9 need an AWPer and he's one of the best available right now that would fit in the team.
In terms of VP, I think mir hasn't been performing too well and there's a plethora of talent, potentially one we haven't heard of yet.
But to be honest, I think anyone in the top 15 should replace any of their players with donk.
Michael “YouM3” Cassidy
Bo3: Which team would you make a roster change to?
YouM3: That’s easy, Cloud9.
Bo3: What change should they make?
Harvey “Skriv” Rodgers
Bo3: Which team would you make a roster change to?
Skriv: I think I'd go with Falcons. Obviously, they've just picked up dupreeh, and it's a shame with what happened with BOROS, I wanted to see more out of him, but I feel like they're just lacking a bit of youthful firepower.
Bo3: What change should they make?
Skriv: Well, they seem to have a bit of a blank cheque, so maybe I'd look at some of the VP players. FL1T and fame, rifle-wise, are both playing very well, so just go for one of these teams who would maybe be disappointed with how they performed at the Major.
