Valve continues to improve Counter-Strike 2 by releasing an update on February 7, 2025. It makes changes to Premier matchmaking, improves the user interface, and fixes some technical bugs.
Premier: changes to matchmaking
One of the main aspects of the update was the adjustment of the logic that determines whether players with different CS ratings can participate in matchmaking together in Premier. As a result, most players who played together in the first season will be able to form teams in the second season.
Interface improvements
- In the main menu, the element “Get a service medal” has been added to the profile card, which makes it easier to get it.
- Fixed an issue where medals were not displayed in profiles.
- Updated the radar on the Dust II map to improve its accuracy.

Technical fixes
Valve also paid attention to technical issues:
- Fixed a bug where pressing the weapon overview or reload buttons could cause predictable errors in the game.
