Which skin for the AK-47 was purchased for $160,000?

On March 13, a Wild Lotus AK-47 skin was sold for €149,000, which is approximately $160,000. This is not the most expensive skin, but it is likely now in the top 10. The Wild Lotus skin for the AK-47 was added to CSGO in 2019. There are less than 3,000 of these skins in existence, and even fewer factory samples.

The factory new version of Wild Lotus skin for AK-47 will cost around $10,000. The reason why the aforementioned skin was sold for $160,000 is due to the stickers that were applied.

It has four Reason stickers from the ESL Major Series One Katowice 2014, each of which is worth around $40,000 today. Since this skin was released in 2019, the stickers were applied when they were already very expensive, so the buyer paid a price close to the full value of the stickers.

The stickers match the color of the weapon well, but due to the rarity of these items, there are only two other Wild Lotus skins for the AK-47 with these stickers. Each of them will be valued at around the same price.

Who bought the skin and which esports players have already used it?

The buyer is a Chinese collector, which is typical for most expensive items in CSGO. However, this skin will likely be showcased at future majors, as owners often provide these items to professional players for use in major tournaments.

In fact, in 2022, FaZe Clan member Russel Twistzz Van Dulken played with this skin, borrowing it from the previous owner.

However, the most expensive skin for AK-47 is still for sale. It's the "StatTrak AK-47 | Case Hardened" with a pattern 661 and four Titan stickers from the ESL Major Series One Katowice 2014, currently being sold for over $400,000. At the time of publication of this material, the most expensive item in CS:GO is the "★ StatTrak™ Karambit | Case Hardened" with a pattern 387, valued at over $1.5 million.
