It has been discovered that cheaters have found ways to access Counter-Strike 2 despite not having access to beta testing. This information was revealed during a stream by Timothy "TimTheTatman" on Twitch.
One of the hackers, who was using an aimbot, was on the same team as the streamer and helped him win a match. Later, the same cheater met TimTheTatman in the "Deathmatch" mode and continued to use prohibited software to kill opponents. During their conversation, he admitted that he did not have official access from Valve to participate in the CS2 beta testing and offered to connect with Timothy on Discord to show him how he infiltrates matches without an invite. However, a few hours later, Valve banned this cheater.
How will the fight against cheaters in Counter-Strike 2 be conducted?
Earlier, dataminer Aquarius discovered a mention of a new anti-cheat called VAC Live in the code of CS2 . According to him, players using prohibited software will be banned during the match, and the match itself will be canceled.
Later, a cheat developer claimed that Valve is not interested in creating an effective anti-cheat system. This is due to the fact that dishonest players represent a stable source of income: they often buy skins and other items, but constantly receive bans and are forced to create new accounts after a few months.
According to the cheat creator, the transition of the game to Source 2 will not lead to significant changes, but the new engine will expand the possibilities for creating new features, such as instant reloading. Many developers are already studying the new engine using Dota 2 and Half-Life: Alyx as examples.
Can you access Counter-Strike 2 with a VAC ban?
The developers of CS2 have stated that players with VAC bans will not be able to access the closed testing of the game. However, former esports player from France Hovik KQLY Tovmassian reported that Valve provided him with access to the Counter-Strike 2 beta on an account that was blocked for cheating. More information on this can be found in the article.
