BLAST Premier Commissioner Andrew Haworth spoke about the possible holding of a Major for Counter-Strike 2. He shared the company's plans in an interview with the HLTV portal.
Haworth stated that BLAST is negotiating with Valve about the possibility of holding a Major for CS2. He believes that this would be a great opportunity for the company to organize a tournament in a new ecosystem.
We’re having lots of conversations with Valve at the moment. As you know, the ecosystem is changing. We're speaking to them regularly on a number of things. And it would be a great opportunity for BLAST to be able to run a Major in the new ecosystem.
Haworth also mentioned that the BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023 was a successful experience for the company.
I can't comment on other people's business models or how they run them, but I can say the Major was a successful, fantastic experience for us, and something we'd be really honored to do again in the future.
[Question: And in financial terms?] It was a really successful event for us.
As of the publication of this material, BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023 is the only Major that the tournament operator has held. It took place from May 8 to 21 in France. The champion was Team Vitality.
