Florian “syrsoN” Rische, one of the most prominent AWP players in Germany, is leaving the BIG active roster. The team officially confirmed this information in their post on X (formerly Twitter), noting that the player's future is currently being discussed. This decision marks the end of his second period in BIG, which lasted from February 2024.
syrsoN: the way to BIG
syrsoN started his first period in the BIG in January 2020, quickly becoming a key player and one of the best snipers in Germany. During this time, he helped the team win several significant tournaments, including DreamHack Masters Spring 2020 and cs_summit 6 Europe, as well as achieve “Legends” status at several majors.

Performances in 2024
During the second period in the BIG, syrsoN showed a stable performance, although the team as a whole did not achieve any major success. Its average LAN rating was 6.0, and its best performances took place in the second half of 2024:
- Shanghai Major Europe RMR: BIG qualified with a 3-0 record.
- ESL Challenger Atlanta: BIG reached the final.
- ESL Pro League Season 20: finished in 13-16th place.
Despite this, at the Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024, the team failed to win a single victory in the Elimination stage and finished the tournament in 15-16th place.
Reasons for the change
Information about the reasons for the lineup change is still limited. However, HLTV sources report that the decision to transfer syrsoN to the bench may be due to the team's desire to make an upgrade before the 2025 season. It is expected that his place will be taken by Marcel “hyped” Köhn, who spent a year on loan from ALTERNATE aTTaX.
syrsoN's achievements at BIG
During his career at BIG, syrsoN has won five significant trophies, including:
- DreamHack Masters Spring 2020 - Europe
- cs_summit 6 Europe
- DreamHack Open Summer 2020 Europe
- Funspark ULTI 2020 Europe Final
- Roobet Cup 2022
He also participated in the majors four times, reaching the Legends stage three times. Despite the lack of major titles at the majors, syrsoN remains one of the most successful AWP players in Germany.
Current situation
syrsoN has officially been transferred to the bench, and his contract is coming to an end. BIG noted that negotiations are underway about his future, and the organization promises to provide more information after the final decision.
What's next for syrsoN?
syrsoN remains one of the most experienced and talented AWP players on the European scene. He has experience playing in international squads and can be a valuable asset to any team looking for a world-class sniper. Whether he stays with BIG as a reserve player or joins another organization is a matter of time.
