Natus Vincere coach Andrey B1ad3 Gorodensky explained how the team would use the sixth player at BLAST Premier: World Final 2022. In an interview, Gorodensky noted that Andrey nipl Kuharsky from the club's academy would join the team and replace Viktor sdy Orujev on some maps.
We will decide after the Abu Dhabi tournament [BLAST Premier: World Final 2022]. For now, there will still be more [with the lineup]. In addition, we want to give sdy more chances [to show himself]. However, nipl will play in the championship in Abu Dhabi. We want to divide the maps between them. Actually, I like this idea. We have done this in the past...
You can't use a six-player lineup only at the Major, so if you think about it, you can rotate something like that after every tournament from Valve. This is very interesting. After each Major, you can give a chance to a player from the academy who is still gaining experience, and you can watch his performance and experiment. As a result, there will be competition between the players. They will be able to show which of them is stronger. This is normal and even natural.
B1ad3 believes that the performance of a six players roster will not significantly affect the team's result.
We are still focused on winning, so the team will play with nipl only on some maps. As a result, two out of three maps will always be strong for us. Yes, we are taking a little risk, but if nipl can't show a decent result at the beginning of the series, we will have a backup plan - the third well-prepared map. For example, b1t could not prove himself in his first matches, but then he started playing stronger. This process takes time.
BLAST Premier: Fall Finals 2022 will be held from November 23 to 27 in Denmark. In the group stage, NAVI will play in group B, and their first opponent will be the Brazilian team Fluxo. You can follow the schedule and results of the championship here.
