Apeks suspends participation in the Counter-Strike discipline

Cybersports organization Apeks has announced on its social media accounts significant changes to its operations in light of the difficult economic situation. In an official statement, it is reported that Apeks is temporarily ceasing participation in the Counter-Strike and Fortnite disciplines, focusing its efforts on VALORANT.

The organization started in 2017 and has achieved significant success, including reaching the Blast.tv Paris Major semifinals last year. However, the current economic conditions have forced Apeks to make difficult decisions to ensure its sustainability in the future.

From June this year, most of the organization's employees will be temporarily laid off. Chairman of the board of directors, Ole Anfinnsen, emphasized that these measures are being taken with a heavy heart, but are necessary to ensure the long-term future of Apeks. He also noted that his commitment to the team and the overall vision remains unchanged.

The lineup now includes CacaNito and Sense, who will likely end up as free agents. There were also replacements in the form of ShyyneSLY and Tapewaare at their last tournament, which was ESL Challenger League Season 47: Europe, there they failed to make it out of the group with a score of 1-4.

The CS community regretted the news of Apeks leaving the Counter-Strike discipline. Fans and other organizations expressed support and sympathy, warm words and wishes for good luck.

Despite the temporary difficulties, Apeks will continue in the VALORANT discipline, where the team aims to qualify for the VCT. The organization would like to thank its staff for their hard work and dedication, as well as the fans for their continued support.
