A Reddit user under the nickname MonstoBustaYT has reported a problem with voice chat on community servers in CS2 that appeared after the May 24 Fire Sale update. According to him, the voice chat breaks and you can't hear other players when they are talking, and to restore it you have to restart the game every time this error occurs.
He also added that the crackling that will be heard in the video is probably caused by a sampling rate mismatch. He suggests that the sampling rate of looped audio is higher than the actual voice chat. The main problem is that the voice chat is only heard through loopback and not as a voice chat.
The community reaction under the post was expected, with many users confirming the same problem. User Chicag0Ben wrote that he demanded Valve to notice and fix the bug, as he had to restart the game about 150 times in two weeks. Another user, Jermsby, noted that the bug also affects “Surf” servers and occurs not only when logging out of a server, but also when restarting it or changing maps, which also requires restarting CS2.
Users who have encountered the bug are asking the developers to quickly release a patch to restore the normal operation of voice chat, because community servers unite people much more strongly than competitive modes, when the server is a lot of people and have fun while chatting in voice chat.
