In the latest CS2 update, it turns out that maybe no one had access to overwatch

A recent update to the CS2 game files has brought some interesting findings for players and the community. Lines of code were discovered that suggest the possibility of dividing a player's demo into fragments. This hints at the return of the old “best/worst match moments” feature.

According to YouTuber Molekuryatnik, no one currently has the Overwatch review feature, not even Valve's select agents called “trusted partners”. He also believes that no player has yet been granted access to the mode, dispelling previous suspicions that such a privileged group exists.

Molekuryatnik also voiced an alternate version of events: it was assumed that the super-secret employees of the “Overwatch” mode could watch games with cheaters from start to finish, not just short squeezes as in previous versions. However, given the current findings, this is faintly believable.

This news begs the question: were the waves of bans over the past few weeks due to Overwatch or anti-cheat? After all, if indeed no one had access to Overwatch, how were the bans issued?
