Rekkles Leaves T1 After a Successful Season: Reasons Behind the Decision

Famous esports player Martin "Rekkles" Larsson announced his departure from the team T1, where he showcased impressive gameplay and solidified his position in the professional league. As part of T1, he achieved significant success and made his mark on the world stage, representing the organization at the World Championship alongside outstanding players like Zeus, Oner, Faker, Gumayusi, Keria and kkOma, Tom, Roach. However, despite victories and recognition, Rekkles decided to end his collaboration with the team and explained his motivation for this decision.

Personal Reasons and the Need for Change

In his statement, Rekkles shared that the past few years have been difficult for him. After leaving Fnatic in 2020, he faced personal challenges, including a diagnosis of autism and family issues. The invitation from T1 to participate in the Korean league was a chance for him to try himself at a new level, and although he was ready to take a break for the 2024 season, he accepted the offer, knowing that he couldnโ€™t pass up the opportunity presented by T1.

However, this move did not solve all his problems. Rekkles realized that he needed to return to Sweden to focus on his health and spend time with his family. Now he has an offer that allows him to continue his professional career in 2025 while staying at home. Rekkles noted that he is essentially planning to "take a recall" โ€” a break to recover and improve skills before returning to the map.

Gratitude to T1 and Fans

Rekkles thanked the T1 team and all its members for their trust and support, especially during the adaptation to a new role and life in Korea. He expressed gratitude to his fans, who have always been by his side, and invited them to join him in the next chapter of his journey.
