League of Legends esports is back in full force, with the five major regions gearing up as the first international event of the year, First Stand, is upon us. But there is one champion that will unlikely feature much at the event, as they have only played a handful of games across the globe in competitive play across the major regions.

That champion's name is Skarner, who to be fair, is considered one of the strongest jungle picks in League of Legends right now. The scorpion has played an awfully low number of games, just barely below double digits with nine games played across the five major regions in competitive League of Legends according to gol.gg.

That's right, Skarner has been banned 162 times across the LEC, the LCK, LTA, LPL, and LCP. To have a champion have a 94% presence percentage but not have double-digit games is astounding. And you can definitely see why because when Skarner gets picked, the team with him wins the game more than not, winning six of the nine games played.

Skarner is an amazing champion and with the buffs to tank items such as Heartsteel, which was an amazing champion on Skarner during the early days of the rework, you can start to understand why pro teams would want him off the rift for good. On top of that, he is an excellent champion who excels in early-game dominance, which would go hand-in-hand with the feats of strength addition to League of Legends in 2025. Last season is where we truly got to see Skarner at his best, with a win percentage of 64% across the entirety of season 14 for LoL esports. Players like Canyon, Xun, and Tarzan all showed remarkable skill on the champion, and this is likely a reason why we haven't seen him feature really at all in Season 15.
