League of Legends fans are once again unhappy with a certain feature on the client, causing fans to take to Reddit today to complain about it. To get to the crutch of it, League of Legends fans are unhappy that they can no longer be taken directly to the crafting screen. Instead, they are greeted by a rather annoying screen that tries to get them to roll the dice with the latest gacha skin, this time it's exalted Sett. Although it's just a single click of the mouse and it's gone, it's still rather annoying to look at, especially if you don't want the skin.
Therefore, League of Legends fans have taken to Reddit to express their annoyance with the way the client works for the crafting page. One Redditor said "It's extremely predatory and obnoxious of them. They already announced it at the initial release, the loot/crafting button should take you to the loot/crafting page, not to the gacha page first."
And while Riot has already started to cut back on what you can get on the crafting page, it's still rather annoying for fans to be met with a system that makes you pay hundreds of dollars just for the chance of getting a rare League of Legends skin.
Another Redditor said, "The problem is, since people keep buying these skins, it gives off the feeling to them that what they're doing is working." And they're not wrong, whales are a big part of the game, and while they're within their right to spend their money how see fit, Riot is shifting their marketing strategy towards people that can spend hundreds of dollars on League of Legends skins. Riot has started to shift towards more exalted skins, with Mordekaiser planned to be released for Season 2, later in 2025.
Therefore, the more money that players spend, the more Riot is going to do these skins to appease the 'Whales'. It's not a great system for the average League of Legends player who just wants to access their crafting page without an exalted gacha skin being shown across their entire screen.
