Sometimes when you are playing games, you just want to be left alone. Whether you have that one person on your friend's list who won't stop bothering you, or there's just a day where you want to play solo and not tell any of your friends. Those days happen, but sadly for League of Legends fans, there's nothing they can do about it. There's no appear offline mode in League of Legends. There is workarounds, however, but not everyone wants to jump through a few hoops in order to have that one moment of privacy.
League of Legends fans have today taken to Reddit to complain about the lack of "appear offline" options in the game, citing that they sometimes just want to avoid a specific person and that they should have the option to if they wish. The original poster of the thread said "I just want to play my games without anyone bothering me or inviting me to play. I don't want to unfriend anyone, I just don't want people to see me online and in a game. There are days when I want to play with friends, but there are days when I want to play anonymously without anyone bothering me."
And they're right, there is no reason why League of Legends, VALORANT, or any other Riot Game title should force your account to be online and available for the public to see that you are online playing the game right now. One commenter did make a valid point; "I made a 2nd account specifically for that." And while this is a valid option, your main account could have hundreds of hours spent, including on skins, various battle passes, Eternals, and more, so going onto a second account just to avoid someone seems a bit excessive.
Right now, the only option for appearing offline is to use the third-party app Decieve, this application links to your League of Legends account, giving it the appearance that you are offline in the Riot client, but are still able to log into the game and play, chat with friends, and more.
