There were some major changes to how League of Legends esports operated for the 2025 season. From consolidating regions to a third international event, to fearless drafting being introduced for the first split of the year. 

And LoL fans have taken to the introduction of Fearless Draft well, so much so they're going to be disappointed when the feature is removed from the competitive scene after First Stand. Today, League of Legends fans took to Reddit to express their love for Fearless Draft and wanting to see the feature more in League of Legends esports in the future. 

Fearless draft in the context of the 2025 League of Legends esports season is where when a champion gets picked in a best-of-three or best-of-five, that champion is banned for the rest of the series, forcing players to pick up other champions to play. This creates a lot of entertainment, but also chaos as players are forced onto less comfortable picks, removing optimal gameplay in replacement for entertainment.

In a Reddit thread, LoL fans expressed how refreshing the fearless draft has been in LoL esports across the various regions. Only the LEC has yet to start using fearless draft due to the first portion of the regular season being a best-of-one. "These games are so much more fun to watch with the interesting drafts," said the original poster of the Reddit thread.

Even if you are seeing some of the same champions over and over again, you only have to see them played once. K'Sante, for example, has been one of the most popular LoL champions for a couple of years, but with the addition of fearless draft, fans only have to see him in one game out of three or five. Another commentor said "even with the same picks you can see a lot of variance in how the game is played out depending on which teams are playing."
