Bilibili Gaming mid laner Zhuo "Knight" Ding opened up about the team’s struggles heading into their next elimination match at the Mid-Season Invitational 2025. Speaking ahead of their clash with Anyone’s Legend — a rematch of the LPL Spring Finals. Knight admitted BLG are still building synergy and pointed out how much his lane opponent Shanks has grown during the tournament.
Despite being considered one of the favorites, BLG haven’t quite found their rhythm at MSI. This upcoming match could be the turning point — either a redemption arc or the confirmation of deeper issues within the team.
A high-stakes rematch
The next round of the MSI 2025 lower bracket will see Bilibili Gaming and Anyone’s Legend square off once more. The winner moves on to challenge for a spot in the grand final, while the loser heads home. It’s not just a rematch — it’s a measuring stick for BLG’s current trajectory and potential under pressure.
Ahead of the match, Knight highlighted the importance of early coordination:
Playing against AL, we have to play early teamfights and movements even better. We need to have time to prepare, otherwise we could lose.
He also addressed the internal challenges BLG have been facing throughout the tournament:
This year, since we’ve had roster changes and haven’t had much time to gel — and it’s Beichuan’s first international tournament — we haven’t had enough time to build synergy. So we don’t have the same kind of coordination we did before.
Looking toward the mid lane battle, Knight had praise for Shanks and his growth at MSI:
I feel like Shanks right now, compared to Shanks in the LPL, he’s really confident. The more he wins, the more confident he becomes. He’s a really strong player.
This series could redefine BLG’s run at MSI 2025. A win would not only be a statement of resilience but also reestablish the team’s momentum on the global stage. A loss, however, might raise questions about the roster’s future. For Knight, it’s also a personal challenge — a high-stakes rematch against a surging Shanks that could shape the tournament narrative moving forward.
The Mid-Season Invitational 2025 will take place from June 27 to July 12 in Canada, with a prize pool of $2,000,000. You can follow the news, schedule, and tournament results through this link.
